Big Mac Sliders

If you’re of a certain age you might remember the old Big Mac jingle that started with: Two all-beef patties, special sauce, lettuce, cheese, pickles, onions on a sesame seed bun. These Big Mac Sliders are all that goodness in mini form!

Ingredients :
  • 3/4 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 medium yellow onion , chopped and divided
  • 1 teaspoon fine sea salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 12 Slider buns or Hawaiian rolls
  • 6 slices American or sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup iceberg lettuce , shredded
  • 1/4 cup pickles , sliced
  • 2 tablespoons salted butter , melted
  • sesame seeds , for sprinkling, optional
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons relish
  • 2 tablespoons yellow mustard
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
Directions :
  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. In a large pan on medium-heat, add the 3/4 pound lean ground beef, half of the diced onion, 1 teaspoon fine sea salt, 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper, 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder, and 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. Cook until the beef is no longer pink and cooked through, about 5-7 minutes.

  2. Carefully cut the 12 Slider buns or Hawaiian rolls in half lengthwise with a serrated or sharp knife. Set aside.

  3. In a small bowl, combine the 1/4 cup mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons relish, 2 tablespoons yellow mustard, 2 tablespoons ketchup, 1 teaspoon paprika, 1/2 teaspoon onion powder and 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder and mix. Spread half of the sauce on the bottom layer of the rolls.

  4. Top with the cooked beef, 6 slices American or sharp cheddar cheese, 1/2 cup iceberg lettuce, and 1/4 cup pickles. Drizzle the remaining sauce on top and place the top half of bread rolls on the sliders.

  5. Brush the melted 2 tablespoons salted butter on top of the sliders and then top with sesame seeds (optional).

  6. Bake the sliders for 10-15 minutes or until the cheese has melted. Let sliders cool for a few minutes and then cut into 12 sliders.
